Verdana/size=-1 is the one that I am currently
considering as a site-wide basefont replacement for
Times New Roman (the default on Internet Explorer).

Nope. -- I decided against it -- changing the default. -- Why ? -- Because (2 reasons) -- in paragraph form, the leading (space between lines) seems lacking in "Verdana" -- unlike "Comic Sans" in which the leading is quite nice. -- And reason number 2 -- because I couldn't get either the "font-size" or "line-height" CSS properties to work in the "body" specification of my STYLE.CSS stylesheet -- but curiously, the "font-family" property worked fine. -- Oh well ...
